September 2009 – Belden creates new dedicated Australian automation business

Industrial signal transmission company Belden Australia has created a new automation division designed to provide greater support to its distribution partners for its Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH and Lumberg Automation brands.

Both based in Europe, Hirschmann and Lumberg are global industrial automation suppliers and have been part of the Belden group since 2007.

The new Belden Automation division in Australia will be headed by Adam Callender. The Belden Automation division is now part of Belden's South Pacific business, which is based here in Australia.

"With locally trained staff and comprehensive and knowledgeable support from these well known global entities, we will be able to better service Australian and New Zealand customers," Callender said.

"Local distributors, Soanar, Daanet and Balluff-Leuze will continue to deliver industrial automation solutions to engineers who want intelligent networking of control systems for industries as diverse as food processing, automotive and materials handling and assembly.

"Hirschmann and Lumberg products are a great complement to Belden's offering," said Mr Callender. The Lumberg brand offers complete wiring solutions for mechanical engineering and production systems. This includes connectors, sensors, actuators and wiring components for all areas of industrial automation technology.

Hirschmann is a manufacturer of industrial network solutions based on industrial ethernet and specialises in connector applications, electronic control systems, accessories and unified management software.

Its product range extends from network components and fibre interfaces for different bus systems through electrical actuator and sensor connectors to systems for load indication and load moment limitation for cranes and various other mobile applications.

August 2009 – Eugene Mayevsky joins Daanet

Daanet has appointed Eugene Mayevsky in the role of Sales and Support Manager. Eugene, formerly of Rockwell Automation, is a widely know industry identity, particularly in the area of motion / servo controls.

His new role with Daanet will focus on developing an effective sales and support structure for the company and its Distributors as they build up the business for B&R Automation (Bernecker & Rainer Industrie Elektronik Ges.m.b.H). Eugene’s extensive and well regarded background in motion control and robotics will benefit many users of B&R’s integrated motion capabilities. According to Daanet Director Sean Smith, "With his background in engineering and business development, Eugene elevates our customer engagement capability to a new level; and as a well known identity in the industry, his appointment adds significant capability to the Daanet management team".
