Developed specifically to accommodate network growth while containing current expenditure, the MICE family offers a modular approach to industrial ethernet. Comprising a DIN rail mountable backplane, a switch and media modules, MICE provides a highly customisable solution. New network demands can be met with the latest technology and expanding range of options through the use of additional media modules, and paid for only when they are required rather than now 'just in case'.

The MS20 range includes ethernet and fast ethernet switching, while the MS30 includes Gigabit switching. The top end 'PowerMICE' product allows for additional Gigabit ports, and is available with layer 3 (routing) capability.

MICE media modules offer a wide range of choices of twisted pair and fibre optic ports and connectors, including combination modules. All twisted pair ports support autocrossing, autopolarity, and autonegotiation for simplicity in cabling and configuration. A

The Gigabit Media modules provide 'combo' ports, where fibre transceiver modules may be inserted, substituting for a copper port.

All MICE fibre media modules use 'SC' type fibre connectors. Note that SFP modules however use 'LC' type connectors.

Benefits of a modular design:

  • Cost Effective: Pay for only what you need on each switch.
  • Future Proof: Customers who bought MICE previously and now want to take advantage of new technology such as PoE need only add a appropriate media module, rather than purchasing an entire switch.
  • Scalability: Let your switch grow with your network.
  • Reduced spares: Common modules in use across the plant decrease spares holding requirements and hence costs.

Expand as you like:
All MICE can be expanded from their regular number of slots using the MB-2T base expansion module which easily slots onto the MICE backplane and provides an extra two slots for media modules.
